WITH regards to the county council's late, late decision to double the cost of any Bordesley bypass that would be needed to secure the Abbey Stadium Project (Advertiser, September 9).
It is unfortunate the Tory-led county council seems obsessed with throwing obstacles in the way of Labour-led Redditch Council's efforts to secure jobs and leisure provision.
Any major project not heading south seems to be subject to delays and be starved of funding.
Redditch Council has fought long and hard to try to secure this success and new leader Phil Mould has been a tireless worker on this project and supportive of former leader David Cartwright's excellent work.
It is good to see Tory group leader Carole Gandy criticising the county council's decision to up the anti on the project.
We need all our councillors, both borough and county, to give their full support and get behind the project.
The south of the county is trying to steal our hospital services and now they are busy sabotaging the prize the council has worked so hard to win.
