I have just spent 90 minutes on the Bromsgrove Highway in a traffic jam. The reason I was in the jam? I was trying to get to a cinema.
As I have the misfortune to live in Redditch, I have to travel if I wish to see a film.
The only entertainment in Redditch is the pub - I do not count the theatre as it only caters for a small portion of the 80,000 people living in the town.
Having lived in Redditch since 1972, I have been able to watch the town go downhill from then.
Our swimming pool is decrepit, the town centre is slowly closing down, work on the Spinney in Oakenshaw lasted one week and then stopped - there's a surprise - and the sports centre are very expensive.
We have not had a cinema for six years, even though there was a plan for one in the town centre turned down by our council.
They will point to the Abbey Stadium Development, a project I predict will never happen and even if it does, it will be closed within two years through lack of use.
This letter is the first I have written in complaint to anybody but I have finally had enough.
Redditch Council lacks leadership, intelligence, drive and ambition and to my mind, is totally useless.
I feel very let down.
