I SUFFER with asthma and eczema. I am 46 years old and because of my asthma, my stature is not what you would expect it to be for a man of my age.

In April, I got dumped onto the dole after a temporary position and now find I am experiencing difficulties in finding another job and feel as though I am not having satisfactory help or advise for people like myself.

Since April to date, I have applied for 94 jobs, either by sending CVs or filling in application forms.

Out of those jobs, I have had five interviews.

Even jobs I have done in the past such as post room duties, filing and basic clerical responsibilities, for which I have had interviews, I have not been successful.

I look for jobs on the internet, also in local and national newspapers.

I am registered at Solihull JobCentre and also with 24 recruitment agencies - in Redditch, Alcester, Stratford, Shirley, Solihull, Birmingham city centre and Knowle.

I have come across a number of dissatisfying experiences in the jobs I have applied for.

A lot of companies do not reply.

I have had instances where I have applied for jobs on the day they were advertised, only to find the vacancy has already been filled.

Companies have also advertised vacancies but then a change of staff at management level has resulted in the position being withdrawn.

At one company, I applied for a job in June and again in September and still there is no response.

Companies seem to give a variety of excuses which makes me wonder why they advertise.

It would appear to me that if one is limited as to what job you can do, or has experienced health problems in the past, although you are willing and capable of working, no help is available because I and many more people do not fit into a certain category.
