A FANTASTIC evening's entertainment was given at Cookhill Village Hall on November 2 when the club's annual professional concert was given by Yamaha's Ryan Edwards on his EL900 electronic organ.
A full capacity audience was enthralled by Ryan's superb technical skills which, combined with a superb choice of programme, infectious enthusiasm and a delightful personality, provided a night which will be long remembered.
The whole audience left the hall buzzing with appreciation and amazement at the skills and talent which had been exhibited on an evening when, until 5 pm, the whole event had been in doubt following a major power failure in the village. Committee members had been scurrying all day seeking mobile generators, torches, calor gas lamps and even candles to ensure that the event could proceed should the power not be regained. No wonder the day was named "Stress Awareness Day"!
The next meeting will be at the village hall on Wednesday, December 7 at 7.30 pm. The meeting will conclude with a short concert by club member Hazel Grainger.
Tickets cost £1 for members and £2 for non-members. For more details, call John or Lyn Hearn on 893263.
