FIREFIGHTERS from the area were rewarded for their efforts at Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Services annual awards ceremony held this month.
Leading Firefighter Neil Bell, from Alcester, received a Queen's Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (20 years).
Bidford Fire Station won the retained section for the Dennis Lawrence Garden Competition, and Alcester boasted the Most Improved title in the competition.
The 100th Defence Medal was also awarded to late leading fireman Ronald Herbert Fennemore.
The award recognises the loyalty and bravery of its recipients, many of whom were killed as a result of enemy action, and was received by Mr Fennemore's great, great niece, firefighter Katie Board, who serves at Alcester fire station.
