SKIPPER Graham Hyde -- an FA Cup finalist in 1993 -- admits he is buzzing at Worcester City's stunning assault in the famous knockout competition.
The midfield veteran appeared as a Sheffield Wednesday substitute during the Wembley final and subsequent replay against Arsenal 12 years ago.
Now in the twilight of his career, 35-year-old Hyde plays an important role in the City engine room.
He helped pull the strings in midfield during Monday night's 1-0 replay win over Chippenham Town, in front of a capacity 4,006 crowd at St George's Lane, until player-manager Andy Preece boldly replaced Hyde to strengthen City's attack.
Hyde was delighted to play a part and he reckons Worcester's remarkable FA Cup story is not over yet.
League One high-flyers Huddersfield Town arrive on Sunday, December 4, and Hyde warned that a shock may be on the cards in front of a live television audience.
"If we play well and Huddersfield have an off day, then we've got a chance," insists Hyde. "We will probably need our fair share of luck, but that is what the FA Cup is all about.
"It's a massive game for the club, financially. But there's no pressure on us going into the game. We can go and enjoy the occasion.
"These sort of games still give me a massive buzz. To get a team like Huddersfield down here in front of a full house will be fantastic.
"Whatever age you are, you want to be playing in games like that and winning them.
"We quadrupled the crowd (against Chippenham) and we are now looking at a live game on television. It is great for the club.
"The younger lads will get a lot of experience from this. As you could see, we get 1,000 odd people for home league games and we got a packed crowd for this game.
"The atmosphere was a lot better because it was a big game. The younger players will learn a lot from it and want more of it."
After a poor start to the Nationwide North season, Hyde is hoping the cup success will rub off onto City's league form.
It certainly had an effect in Worcester's previous two matches, which has seen 1-0 and 6-2 wins over Barrow and Hednesford Town respectively.
Hyde added: "We've not done well in the league and that's been a disappointment. But the cup run has kept going, we are going to enjoy it and, hopefully, that can lead onto better results in the league."
