YOUNGSTERS at a Worcester school have been busy sewing a patchwork quilt to raise awareness of the benefits of adoption.
In support of National Adoption week pupils at Warndon Junior School added patches designed by themselves and illustrating their favourite things.
Adoption provides a permanent family for a child or children whose own parents are unable to look after them.
John Buckley, county councillor for Gorse Hill and Warndon said; "Potentially anyone could adopt, as long as they are aged over 21 and can provide a safe and caring home for children."
Worcestershire County Council needs an additional 25 adoptive households across the county.
It welcomes enquiries from people over 21 years old. Potential adopters can be single or a couple, religious or not, from any racial or religious background, gay, lesbian or heterosexual. They can have children in the family, have a disability or not. Couples need to have been living together for three years or more.
Anyone interested in adopting can call 0800 0282158, or visit ww.worcestershire .gov.uk/adoption
