CHESS players from across Worcestershire will go head to head in a charity tournament next month.
The players will do battle in aid of St Richard's Hospice at the Blitz Chess Tournament on Thursday, December 3, at St Stephen's Church Hall, in Droitwich Road, Worcester.
Chess clubs from the area have been invited to take part and organisers are hoping for a bumper turnout to raise cash for the hospice. Tony Spittle, Worcester City Chess Club chairman, said: "This will be a fun event and a time when chess players can face each other across the board and also support the work of our local hospice."
Chess players of all abilities are welcome.
Entrance is £3 per person and entry forms are available from Mr Spittle after 5pm on 01905 764952. Tea, coffee and biscuits are included in the fee.
