TOUGH measures introduced to combat anti-social behaviour in Ronkswood need to be extended to include a wider area, according to one worried resident.
Carol Jordan said that she has had eggs thrown at her windows and family, her property vandalised and cannot enjoy woodland walks because of discarded syringes.
The 34-year-old said that she would like to see the Section 30 Order placed on the area in and around Lichfield Avenue and Canterbury Drive, and one in force around Medway Road, Humber Road, Windrush Close and Mersey Road should be extended, to include Tamar Close.
The orders give police additional powers to disperse groups of troublemakers and move them on.
"They hang around all the time and it can be quite intimidating," she said.
"Being a single woman, I worry that if I go out and say anything, there will be a gang of them."
Miss Jordan said that youngsters frequently run across the garden, have demolished fencing while fighting and knock on the door before running off.
The office worker said: "Why should you sit back and have to take all that?
"I wouldn't do it to their house so why should they come and do it to you?
"They just don't seem bothered, as long as it's not on their doorstep."
She said that in order to put the heart back into the community, youngsters need to be made aware of the effects that their anti-social behaviour has on victims.
"There needs to be more incentives to get them into activities," she suggested.
Miss Jordan added that youngsters, who congregate on land near her home also litter her garden with empty cans and bottles.
