POLICE are anxious to trace a Derbyshire man who drove his car into the middle of Evesham - and then vanished into thin air.
Officers in Derbyshire are becoming increasingly concerned for the safety of 50-year-old James Symcox, who arrived in Evesham on October 14 and was reported missing from his home in Kirk Langley a week later.
CCTV cameras picked him up in Bridge Street at 10.50am that day but nothing has been seen or heard of him since.
His blue Rover 75 was left in the car park in Oat Street with a parking ticket displayed on it.
Mr Symcox is white, 6ft 1in tall and of proportionate build. He has a moustache and straight fair hair which is receding, brown eyes and a pale complexion.
He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a dark jacket with a light horizontal stripe on the chest, black shoes and carrying an umbrella.
Police said there was a possibility he is staying local in an hotel or bed and breakfast establishment and have appealed for him to get in touch.
They also said they were not aware that Mr Symcox had any connections with Evesham.
Anyone with information about Mr Symcox's whereabouts is asked to contact Derbyshire police -on 0845 1233333.
