ON November 2, there was a talk on The Woodland Trust.
Founded 34 years ago by Kenneth Watkins, the trust employs around 200 people and has more than 85,000 members, with 1,000 plus woods to maintain. The members plant around half a million trees each year.
Admission to the forests is free, and new members are always welcome.
The trust intends to plant 30 million trees in the new national forest, in Leicestershire and Staffordshire.
