Huntingdon Hall is gearing up to welcome one of the biggest musical legends ever to grace the city centre stage.
Blues man Van Morrison has just confirmed he is to play two shows at the intimate 350-seater venue on Sunday, December 11 in an unusual departure from his usual thousand seater venues.
Speaking about the coo, Huntingdon Arts director Chris Jaeger said: "We're absolutely thrilled to have Van Morrison playing at Huntingdon Hall. Where else in the country could you experience an evening with Van in such a unique and intimate surrounding?"
Van Morrison was born in Belfast in 1945, the son of a shipyard worker who collected American blues and jazz records. Van grew up listening to the music of Muddy Waters, Mahalia Jackson, Lightnin' Hopkins and John Lee Hooker. As a teenager he played guitar, sax and harmonica with a series of local Irish showbands, skiffle and rock'n'roll groups. Van Morrison continues to play a busy schedule of regular concerts every year throughout Europe and in the USA.
