PUPILS from a primary school in Bidford have worked hard over the last month to ensure children less fortunate than themselves will receive Christmas presents this year.
Teachers and pupils from Bidford First School have taken part in the Christmas Child appeal. Children, aged five to 11, have been collecting shoeboxes since October and filling them with inexpensive gifts for children in Eastern European countries.
Headteacher Ellen Honeybun has taken part in the appeal for the last five years and was delighted with the 150 shoeboxes the pupils had collected.
"The pupils from this school have worked very hard over this last month. They've collected many shoeboxes and have bought some lovely gifts for boys and girls," said Mrs Honeybun.
The shoeboxes with stickers on the front of each box, indicating whether the gift is appropriate for a girl or boy, will be collected later this week and taken over to children in Eastern Europe to make sure they too have a good Christmas this year.
