Droitwich II 1,
Badsey Ladies 1
BADSEY were denied victory when they conceded an equ-aliser in the last minute of Saturday's absorbing encou-nter.
Droitwich put the visitors under pressure from the first whistle with some quick incisive passing but disciplined marking ensured the goal wasn't breached.
Player of the match Rachel Leeming was in commanding form in goal and her efforts kept Badsey on terms as they played themselves into the match.
Midfielders Sarah Turner, Angela Heath and Shelley Banner harried the opposition, with the former having an excellent game and offering valuable support to the forwards.
Badsey took the lead in the second half after a good run and cross from the right by Sarah Rickey. Nikki Wright found herself in a tussle with the Droitwich keeper and she just managed to reverse sweep the ball into the net.
Droitwich now threw everything they could at their opponents but they were denied by more excellent defending.
Badsey spurned chances to increase their lead and they were made to pay when Droitwich snatched a scrambled equaliser.
Badsey have a 9am start against Evesham on Saturday at the High School.
