AN auction of promises at a village school could raise thousands of pounds for youngsters.
Last year's event at Eckington CE First School raised £7,000 and organisers have thanked parents and businesses who have pledged their support for this year.
There are some great promises lined up for November's event, including a week's use of a villa in Cyprus.
From holidays abroad to offers of household chores, every promise counts.
Previous events have raised funds for a new play area and the proceeds of this year's event will go towards computers.
Organiser Liz Crumpton, a teaching assistant, said: "Every year we are astounded by the level of support that we get.
"It means that the children can get lots of treats, trips and new facilities
"The event, which started about six years ago, began as an additional fund-raiser, now it is our biggest."
There will also be a section for children to donate promises, the proceeds of which will help to fund a website in the name of a four-year-old diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.
The Joss Parkes Hope Trust will be set up to help parents of children like Joss, the grandson of an Eckington couple.
Anyone who wants to donate promises for the event, on Friday, November 18 can call 01386 751613/750666.
