THE Lions of St George looked the part on Sunday afternoon after they beat Sickadem 5-3 in the Premier Division.

The Lions were cheered on by mascots Lucy and Hannah who did not stop singing all game and can feel proud of the support they gave their side.

The game itself saw an excellent end-to-end encounter that was deservedly won by the Lions as they climbed into the top half of the division.

Studley Giants require just three points to secure the Premier Division title after they narrowly defeated Alcoholics Anom 1-0.

Stuart Dyson was again the outstanding performer for the Giants as he mopped up everything at the back. He also scored the winner early in the second half.

Elsewhere in the Premier Division, Goodfellows were easy winners over Villapool Albion as they defeated their opponents 3-0 while Average Joes beat Redditch Warriors by the same scoreline.

The Wednesday 5-a-side league saw ABFC make a winning return after they hammered Inter Ya Net 22-3.

Martin West was man of the match, his second such award in three weeks as he produced a stunning indivdual display to steer ABFC home.

Leaders Team Extreme maintained their 100 per cent record at the top thanks to a 10-3 victory over The Bandits.

In a 'potentially tricky fixture', Bandits began well and were unlucky not to have gone in at the break ahead.

But the leaders took control in the second half to run out clear winners.

Maderk United had skipper Mark Wilmer to thank for his superb individual display in the middle of the park as his side ran out 9-5 winners over RJFS.

This one was end-to-end with both sides playing some good stuff, but Maderk had the edge and subsequently bagged the points.

Elsewhere in the Premier Division, Globetrotters beat KMB FC by 7-6, Stuart beat Racing Club 7-5 and Super Furry Animals won a thriller, 6-4 over Key Sytems United.
