MUSIC lovers in the town can look forward to a treat from top cellist Ulrich Heinen this Saturday.
As part of Redditch Music Society's concert programme, Mr Heinen will perform a range of music by Schumann, Webern and Janacek, as well as Debussy's Cello Sonata and Schubert's "Arpeggione" Sonata.
Mr Heinen is well known to Midland audiences and was appointed principal cello of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra in 1984 by Sir Simon Rattle, who persuaded him to move from his native Germany. He has also given many recitals on BBC Radio 3.
The renowned cellist will be accompanied by pianist Robert Markham, who has previously appeared as a soloist and chamber musician in previous seasons for the Redditch Music Society.
Both he and Mr Heinen studied at the world famous Julliard School in New York.
The concert will be held at the Ecumenical Centre in the town centre, starting at 7.30pm.
Tickets are £7.50 or £6.50 for concessions, with free entry for accompanied school age children.
