Worcester City 3, Evesham Utd U-15 1
SATURDAY'S was an end to end game in the Midland Junior Premier League with both sides creating, but failing to take their early chances.
Scott Andrews created a lot of problems for the home team's defence but it was City who took the lead after 32 minutes with a disputed goal following a spill by the Evesham goalkeeper.
The hosts started the second half with some neat football but it was the
visitors who equalised when Dan Trotman capitalised on a mistake.
United then looked the stronger side and more likely to score again but against the run of play Worcester restored their lead on the hour.
A third goal then made the game safe for the home side who went on the counter attack with Evesham playing three at the back.
Evesham Utd U-13 B 5, Peopleton 1
THOUGH exerting much of the pressure in the first half, Evesham were unable to find the net until close on the half-hour mark.
Tom Evans won the ball and found James Bearcroft in space on the edge of the box, where he had the time to fire a shot into the net.
United killed off the match in an eight-minute spell after the restart. Elliot Grady found the net after some fine work from Bearcroft, Evans and Henry Woods, who then scored the third.
Colin Philpott's long-range shot took a wicked deflection off a defender to beat the keeper and Woods then completed his brace when converting a cross from Bearcroft.
A period of Peopleton pressure gained some reward after the Evesham defence failed to clear but the goal only served as a consolation.
Broadway U-9 3, Ilmington 0
THREE first half goals had clinched victory for Broadway by half-time.
Jack Perks netted twice and Cameron Jones once in a fine team display that unfortunately failed to bring more goals in the second period.
Ilmington battled gamely but their hopes of getting back into the match were thwarted by some solid defending.
Bredon Colts U-10 3, Ilmington AC 1
BREDON dominated from the first whistle but they were unable to turn their territorial dominance into goals.
Debutant Daniel Brookes had a good game in midfield in a match in which the deadlock was broken when Taylor Finnigan fired a low drive into the net.
Sam Byde soon doubled Bredon's lead but Ilmington were back in it before the break when a simple through ball caught out the home rearguard.
After spurning several chances to renew the two-goal cushion, a shot from Elliot Bloom finally beat the Ilmington keeper to ease Bredon nerves and seal the victory.
Alcester 2000 0, Badsey Rgrs U-10 19
UNBEATEN Rangers went on a goal spree last Saturday when six first half goals lit the blue touchpaper for a sparkling second half display that brought 13 more.
Player of the match Matty Andrew hit a first half hat-trick followed by another five after the break.
Callum Grieve, Scott Southern, Jacob Phipps and Ryan Dixon both netted twice as did the overrun Alcester defence with the other Badsey goals coming from Joe Gisbourne and Will Gillette.
Peopleton U-12 4, Sheppey 0
POSITIVE Peopleton overcame stubborn resistance to claim the points in fine fashion.
Only the Sheppey goalkeeper stood between the hosts an even greater margin of victory and it needed a degree of good fortune for Peopleton to finally break the deadlock when Stephen Nedic's cross was turned into his own net by a defender.
Peopleton needed a swift second to calm the nerves and they got it almost straight from the restart when player of the match Joe Fowles charged down a clearance before netting with a well-placed shot.
George Hodgetts made it 3-0 at the second attempt following good play from Arron McMinn and David Jubb and it was the latter who made it 4-0 when cleverly flicking in a corner from Hodgetts.
Pershore Tn U-8 A 2, Badsey Rgrs 4
BADSEY'S first away fixture of the season saw them return home from Pinvin with a well-deserved victory after an entertaining game.
Lovely passing play led to the opening goal when Jordan Lymn's cross was converted by Tom Benfield and it was the provider who made it 2-0 midway through the half after slipping past a couple of defenders.
Pershore halved the deficit soon after the restart but Badsey restored their two-goal lead when Ryan Attwood finished off a fine move.
Again the hosts refused to lie down and gave the Badsey defence a stern test that was rewarded with a second goal only for Rangers to hit back at the other end where Nathan Bolland found the net to seal the victory.
West Brom 7, Evesham Utd U-13 4
AFTER conceding five goals in the first half, Evesham fought back to claim a share of the second half spoils.
A superb strike from Ben Goss and a second for Dean Lee helped peg back West Brom at the break but two more goals left United facing a hiding.
However, the rolled up their sleeves and scored twice more with Lee and Jake Hall giving the scoreline a far more respectable appearance.
Kidderminster Harrs 0,
Pershore Utd U-11 14
RAMPANT United maintained their unbeaten start in Stourport and District League and cup competitions last weekend.
Zac Brant was the star with five goals as Pershore progressed into round three of the League Cup while the other goals came from Patrick Harrison (2), Harry Grant (2), Sean Kerr (2), Kyle Ballard, Luke Alcock and an own goal.
Alcester 2000 0, Evesham Utd Jnrs U-9 12
GOALS flooded in as United produced another impressive league display to easily overcome the home side.
Joe Millar led the goal spree with five goals, while jake Seymour wasn't far behind with a four-goal haul.
United led 3-0 at half-time but piled on the pressure after the break and Charlie Green, Billy Stokes and Josh Evans also joined in the scoring fun.
Oldbury Park Tigers 3,
Evesham Utd U-12 B 0
UNITED were forced on to the back foot but solid defending from Sam Penfold, Josh Woods, James Brown and player of the match James Hitchman kept the Tigers at bay.
However, a mistimed challenge brought Oldbury a penalty but Tom Bennett produced a fine stop.
The goalkeeper, though, was helpless to prevent the hosts netting twice before half-time and Evesham's best chance saw Angus Steele narrowly fail to convert a cracking cross from Dan Wilcox.
Evesham were again unable to find the net after the break but defended stoutly and the Tigers could only manage one more goal to wrap up a closely-fought contest.
