WORCESTER'S attempt to win their 10th successive Midlands Under 10s Festival was thwarted by Bredon Buzzards.
The club have claimed every single title since 1996 but they couldn't continue their run at Kidderminster Carolians Rugby Club.
The Buzzards drew with Worcester in the semi-finals but, because they had scored twice as many tries in the group stages than their opponents, they progressed to the finals.
Tries from Ben Cooke and Joe Carolan saw Bredon through in the final against Birmingham & Solihull.
A number of other teams from the two counties took part in the event, including Luctonians, Droitwich and Bromsgrove.
Luctonians and Droitwich both suffered defeats against the eventual winners in the group stages.
The Herefordshire side went down 10-0, while Droitwich suffered a 25-0 reversal. Joe Taylor, Will Barrell, Charlie Farmer, Cooke and Carolan scored the tries for Bredon in the Droitwich game.
Bromsgrove 'B' met the same opposition in the quarter-final but succumbed to a double from Elliot Lovett and scores from Taylor and Ben Vincent.
