ONCE again it's that time of year, when a lot of residents have to suffer the menace of fireworks, not just on Bonfire Night, but weeks before and after.

Try telling our terrified dog that it's only fireworks! There should be a stricter control of fireworks in general. So many of them have to include a deafening series of explosions and bangs, but why?
Years ago, Bonfire Night was a special occasion and most fireworks were visually pleasing without the noise problem.
I blame both the government and firework manufacturers.
