AFTER reading comments in the press from various people, I can only say that it never ceases to amaze me that if you have something that works fine you than find someone always seems to move the goalposts.
All they look at is monetary aspects and they forget the struggles that the hospitals have had to cater for all aspects of medical care from babies through to the elderly, of which I am one.
If you look at the areas which are served by the Princess of Wales and Alexandra hospitals, both are in fairly heavily populated surrounds and are therefore both very convenient to serve the people of Bromsgrove, Redditch and neighbouring areas. It seems totally unbelievable that residents of these towns could be expected to go to Worcester for treatment.
My wife and I use both local hospitals, both of which we can reach in ten to15 minutes by car. Worcestershire Royal is much further away - getting there takes over half-an-hour or more, plus add on the time to find a parking place. In certain circumstances time can be of the essence.
We should not idly sit on our hands and do nothing. But stand up and be counted and protest in the strongest terms possible.
