RECENTLY I wrote a letter to the paper in response to Sarah Blacklock's letter about litter 'Let's Clean up the Place'.

I would like to say in reply to the letter from 'a Droitwich High student' (why no name?), that I am not 'slating' children for litter dropping, merely stating the facts from observation.

I have already said that I agree that children are not wholly to blame for all forms of litter, so why imply that I am only blaming children.

But I speak as I find, and I know where the rubbish comes from that ends up in my garden, and that is from the children as they walk to school.

Stated in his/her letter are examples of various forms of litter; true enough, and food for thought.

There are people everywhere who are thoughtless about the world we live in, and we have a fair share of them here in Droitwich, as fly tipping for one is on the increase.

'A Droitwich High student' asks me to give an excuse for the litter made by my generation.

Well I won't, because there isn't one. There is no excuse for anyone of any age from any generation to dump any form of litter.

And for his or her information, my generation isn't so far removed from theirs - I am 25 years old.
