BREDON Buzzards Under-10s earned a late call-up to the North Midlands Festival and returned home triumphant.
In wet and miserable conditions, the boys won all three of their league games before defeating Bromsgrove B in the quarter-final to book a date with Worcester, winners every year since 1996, when a place in the final was at stake.
The youngsters weren't fazed by the task that lay before them and Worcester, like Bredon's previous opponents, were defeated albeit on try countback after a scoreless contest, leaving the boys to produce another victory over Birmingham and Solhull to claim the prestigious title.
The squad comprised Will Barrell, Joe Carolan, Ben Cooke, Simon Cox, Will Dovey, Charlie Farmer, Chris Foster, Kass Gerami, Elliott Lovett, Dan McGuigan, Rory McGuigan, Joe Taylor, Ben Vincent and Brandon Wain.
