Kidderminster 4, Evesham 0
EVESHAM continue to struggle as they suffered another defeat and are still awaiting their first league victory of the season.
Manager Martin Husbands conceded: "We're in a period of transition at the moment and there's no denying that these are tough times.
"However, we have to believe that hard work and commitment will pay off."
The visitors started confidently, dictating the midfield play through Matt Baumber and Stuart Harris but once again they lacked a cutting edge in attack. Although Mark Payne provided some encouragement on the right flank, there was little end product despite the perseverance of Ricky Dawe.
Defenders Frank Lake and Jon Vickery looked solid in the early stages but Kidderminster's first real threat once again resulted in an opening goal for the opposition as a lack of concentration provided the home side with an easy chance to pass the ball past the stranded Guy Cassey.
More heartache was to follow as the visitors conceded two more goals in rapid succession as poor passing and failure to close down the opposition provided too much space and time for the hosts to create chances that were simply too easy.
Evesham played with a higher tempo after the interval and pressed the home side deep into their own half. Yet once again, for all the possession and determination there was no real threat in front of goal.
The fortunes of the visiting side were summed up when a counter attack allowed Kidderminster to extend their lead with their first attack of the half and although Evesham looked unlikely to concede any further goals they seemed resigned to another defeat.
The visiting side lost their shape and the game became ragged, although Kevin Jobson had a chance in front of the keeper but put the ball over the bar with a lack of confidence that is evident throughout the team.
Husbands added: "We need to think about re-organising things. We have the best set of players available but at the moment we don't look like scoring and seem to gift opposition goals through a lack of organisation and confidence"
Evesham face fellow strugglers Old Halesonians on Saturday (2.30) in a game that they need to win to kick-start their season and avoid being left stranded at the foot of the West Midlands Premier Division table.
