FOUR friends raised pots of cash for the victims of the earthquake in Pakistan and India.
Armed with collection buckets, Sabrina Tamez, Samera Akhlaq, Mishba Ishaq and Fozia Bibi, all students at NEW College, took part in a mad dash around the Peakman Street campus.
They encouraged staff and students to give generously to Oxfam's South Asia Earthquake Appeal and collected £175 in just over an hour.
The four teenagers, who at the time were fasting for the Muslim festival of Ramadan, wanted to do something for victims of last month's quake, which has claimed more than 87,000 lives.
Sabrina, 19, from Lakeside, said: "We really wanted to do something because it was the holy month of Ramadan.
"It was upsetting to see people losing their families."
