TWO victories over the weekend sent Bromsgrove well on their way to cup success.
The club enjoyed a successful weekend as they defeated Yate 85-73 on Saturday to progress into the next round of the Denny Cup.
Bromsgrove made it two wins in a row on the following day when they narrowly overcame Malvern in the Top Ten National League.
On Saturday Bromsgrove fended off a tough side from Somerset to make progress in bowling's equivalent of the FA Cup.
In the home leg Bromsgrove were took strong, with the team of Martin Hall, Paul Kitchen, Andy Walters and Rob McCaughtrie winning 24-17.
Victory for the side of Bob Niblock, Peter Cliff and Peter Stones and Tom Hall sealed Bromsgrove's home dominance by winning 32-17.
In Yate Tom Farrar, Richie Hall, Gareth Burbidge and Aidie Burbidge won 19-13. Bromsgrove's quartet of Colin Woolvin, Brian Harper, Ian Crowe and Paul Webb lost to a strong Yate line-up 26-10, but it could not prevent victory overall.
Bromsgrove then experienced one of the closest matches of the season in the National League against Malvern.
It took a strong showing by father and son pairing Gareth and Aidie Burbidge to ensure victory.
Neil Smith lost 21-18 to Malvern's Marcus Smith, while Martin and Richie Hall and Andy Walters lost to Malvern 18-15 in the triples.
Bromsgrove quartet containing Brian Harper, Peter Bryan, Paul Kitchen and Brian Clay lost 17-16 to Malvern, but success for the Burbidge's in the doubles sealed a 76-69 win for Bromsgrove.
