ARTISTIC pupils at Webheath First School have struck gold after being awarded a top accolade.
Redditch MP Jacqui Smith presented students with their Artsmark Gold award last Monday.
The award, handed out by the Arts Council, recognises schools particularly committed to a full range of arts including drama, dance, music and design.
As well as offering a wide range of arts-based lessons, the Downsell Road school also holds a range of after-school clubs and an annual arts week.
Headteacher John Gooding said: "We are very pleased and thrilled to receive the Artsmark Gold award. We have worked very hard to get it."
