HEAD coach Anthony Eddy says Warriors are a match for any club in the country after their 15-11 triumph over Leicester Tigers.

Five first-half penalties from Shane Drahm secured the win and Eddy believes there is plenty more to come.

"Worcester is a side that can compete against any team in the Premiership," he said. "That's a good win against Leicester at home but we've got to move on now.

"We've got Sale next week away and that is another important game for us. We go there expecting to walk away with a win."

The victory at Sixways was Worcester's first ever win against Leicester and was all the more pleasing given that key forwards, Pat Sanderson and Chris Horsman were away on international duty.

"It's something that the club should be very proud of and it does show that we can mix it and compete with any club that's in this Premiership competition," said Eddy.

"It's very satisfying. The team worked hard all week for this and they had to work hard for it during the game as well. I think they thoroughly deserved the victory."

The win put Worcester fourth in the table and on course for a Heineken Cup berth. But Eddy is not getting carried away with six months still to go. He said: "Obviously it's something we'd love to try and achieve but at the moment we are not even half way through the Premiership. It's a long way down the track for us and we've got our sights set on more short-term goals at the moment."

Eddy was particularly pleased with the form of his countryman Drahm, and thinks it was his most effective game since joining from Northampton in the summer.

He said: "I thought Shane Drahm controlled the game very well and gave us that field position that we so desired. He's a quality player and he's been playing good football for us."
