SIR - Closed doors at Worcestershire Royal Hospital are nothing new. Within eight months of opening I too was barred and transferred by ambulance to the Alexandra at Redditch where I was assessed as being too ill to travel on to Selly Oak as some of my fellow sufferers were.

Choosing a hospital for elective treatment is all well and good, but when you are suddenly extremely ill, the stress placed upon the patient and family is horrendous.

If our hospital cannot now take in its own citizens what is to become of the sick of Redditch?

Having previously spoken to Mike Foster MP his answer showed disinterest. It is his party that has pushed this bizarre PFI programme.

We all need to recognise three into one will not go. The citizens of Kidderminster, Redditch and Worcester need to unite and fight before a catastrophe overtakes us all. Will John Rostill and Mike Foster publicly give us their thoughts on this matter through the good offices of this newspaper?

L DANDEY,
