SIR - Your leader is correct. It doesn't take an Einstein to see what is wrong with our local hospital services - and yes, everybody with two neurons to rub together saw it coming years ago, not that we were asked!
At a time when locals in West Bromwich are complaining that they didn't want the £54m arts centre our mad lottery fund has given them I just wonder if there is a new disease - Millennium Domeitis? Social Cretinism? Town Hall Megalomania?
Of course the next temple to rampant grandiosity (in the face of reason) could well be Worcester's multi-million pound 'university'. No Einsteins need be involved in predicting the effect of that on our city with its housing shortage and crumbling health and transport facilities. Large areas will become no-go slums in which people who keep normal hours will be pushed out by non-community charge paying sports science 'intellectuals'.
And are we asked? Of course not - its business as usual for our Toy Town potentates with their grandiose ideas - and their sub-Einstein imaginations. That's democracy for you - whether you like it or not!
JIM EVANS,
Worcester.
