DUE to Malvern's first team playing at home on Saturday, Town Reserves had to travel to Littleton, losing the home advantage for this Worcester Nursing Cup fixture.
LITTLETON 2, MALVERN TOWN RES 1
Littleton opened the scoring following a Perry Beddoes free-kick which was whipped across the 18-yard box. Whilst Town's defence allowed the ball to bounce, Robbie Harris timed his run to perfection and hammered home on the half-volley.
Town's goal was fortuitous and occurred as Danny James crossed to Ed Lyons. As the Littleton number five cut out the ball, he deflected it into his own net.
With 20 minutes to go Adam Simpson was adjudged to have fouled and the referee awarded a penalty to Littleton. Matty Staley stepped up and hit the post with his effort but Beddoes followed up to drive home the rebound.
- THE previous Tuesday evening, Town Reserves entertained high-flying Blackheath Town and lost by the only goal.
Blackheath got the all important goal just before half-time when their tricky striker shot, forcing a superb save out of Tom Smith, but the ball rebounded to him and he made no mistake with his second effort.
