MALVERN Library will close for three weeks as part of its ongoing refurbishment.
The doors will be shut
from Monday, November 21, until the morning of Monday, December 12.
While it is closed, the library's entire stocks and services will be transferred to the new extension, which is nearly complete, while the older part is renovated.
The project to build the extension is the biggest change to the building since before the Second World War.
The library, which was opened in 1906, was extended in the 1930s, with a two-storey extension forming the rear of the building and an art gallery downstairs.
This has been demolished to make way for the new extension, which is intended to provide more space for books and computers, as well as a better art gallery.
Work is due to be complete next year, in time for the centenary of the original building. To help readers during the three-week layoff, extra books can be borrowed in the run-up to the closure.
The customer contact centre will remain open during the three weeks the library is closed.
