MANY new tips were learned at the October meeting of Bromesberrow Gardening and Social Club, when a talk was given by Rachel Solesbury on propagation.
Everyone had taken mouth-watering food for the harvest supper and the table had been beautifully decorated by Cathy Myers and Elizabeth Lothian. During the meal the 35 members present were able to look at the colourful slides of Westonbirt Arboretum shown by Fran and Neil Fry.
The overall winner of the gardening section of the village show had decided he would like to keep that cup but as a reflection of the hard work put in by members wished the runner-up in each section to hold the cup for the coming year. Members were very appreciative of David's generosity.
Entries were up on last year's entries for the show and were of a very high standard. The judge was very impressed and said there was no comparison to the first show.
Andrew Perry accompanied Richard Long on the piano then gave his thought on the harvest period in words and hymns which was very much enjoyed.
The annual general meeting will be held on Thursday, November 10, at 7.30pm at the village hall and a talk will be given by Charles Hawes, the RHS clematis winner for 2004.
