IT was enjoyable to watch the 200th anniversary of the victory of the Battle of Trafalgar being celebrated. This victory prevented our constitution and democratic traditions being over-run by a foreign law-making body, single currency and Napoleonic code of justice.
The problem is the people of this country still do not understand that what Nelson achieved in 1805 has and still is being reversed by politicians over the last 30 years.
We now have 70 per cent of our laws being made by a remote, foreign and undemocratic power in Brussels. Almost daily, constitutional protections of the citizen, such as Habeas Corpus, are being removed on the excuse of terrorism, when in reality it is 'harmonisation' with the EU. Nelson is surely turning in his grave!
The people are fast asleep and only UKIP tolls the alarm bell. The only way to stop this insidious takeover is by signing the petition for a referendum on EU membership at www.letthepeopledecide.co.uk/. The politicians won't listen unless you shout.
