CHIPPENHAM boss Darren Perrin has issued a stark FA Cup warning to Worcester City -- insisting it would be foolish to bet against a home win.
The Bluebirds chief regards his side as "massive underdogs" for tomorrow's all-ticket first round showdown.
But after winning all 12 competitive games at Hardenhuish Park this season, confident Perrin believes Town are equipped to shock Andy Preece's men.
"If Worcester underestimate us and we play to our potential, we can win," said Perrin. "I can assure everybody we are going to give everything. It would take a brave man to bet against us.
"Of course, we've done well at home, but we are under no illusions. We are going into the game as massive underdogs. It is nice to be in that situation.
"We are quite a young side and players can freeze on the day. Those are my concerns, but whatever happens, we have done magnificently."
Perrin added: "We are going to have a top class match. The atmosphere will be absolutely electric. It will be deafening and that may work slightly in our favour. But, fair play to Worcester, they are bringing 800 supporters and that speaks volumes for both sets of fans."
While Andy Preece has executed a meticulous scouting dossier on the Southern League Premier Division title-chasers, former Paulton Rovers boss Perrin is equally advanced on Worcester's strengths and weaknesses.
He admired City's battling qualities as they stormed back from a two-goal deficit to dump out Accrington Stanley at St George's Lane.
He added: "Worcester could have capitulated when they went 2-0 down. But Worcester showed great character, great camaraderie, great team spirit and no less ability."
Chippenham have only reached the first round proper once before when they crashed 3-0 at Leyton Orient in 1951.
n Despite Perrin's claim that Chippenham are "massive" underdogs, the bookies do not see it that way. Bet365 quote Town as even-money favourites with City at 9-4 along with the draw.
