BUSINESS leaders in Worcestershire have been invited to a free one-day conference to discuss the benefits of travel plans for the West Midlands.
The event, being organised by the WM TravelWise Group, is to take place at Austin Court, Birmingham city centre, on Thursday, November 24.
The day aims to give employers the opportunity to explore the benefits of developing a travel plan.
Local authorities, including Worcestershire County Council, are working with firms to help those who want to make more of the existing road and public transport network as well as drawing up new measures to encourage people to walk or cycle in to work.
Nicky Luff, TravelWise officer for Worcestershire, said: "We see travel plans as part of the bigger picture in improving travel choice.
"Moving around is something that is important to us all, whether it be to get to work or getting out and about at weekends.
"We have the opportunity to address issues of traffic congestion, air quality, and health, while looking after our towns and countryside."
