AFTER a breathtaking performance at Malvern Theatres last year, ACE Dance and Music return bringing their inspired new production REAL to the Forum Theatre, Malvern, for one night on November 16.

REAL explores what it is to be female, delving beneath projected images to find the real experience. It brings together ideas and inspirations from different times and different cultures, to create a celebration of female existence.

REAL also looks at sexuality, body image and the changing fashions of body shape through time, from curvaceous to skinny to today's world where women can buy their look and change their bodies at will.

Renowned for their unique mix of African, Caribbean and contemporary dance styles, ACE Dance and Music have brought together an award-winning team of artists to create REAL.

Directors Ian and Gail Parmel were influenced and inspired through their research and development by female authors such as Zora Neale Hurston, Bell Hooks, Margaret Atwood and Mende Naze.

They were particularly interested in the differing roles of women and the idea of women being silent achievers in comparison to male contemporaries.

They are joined by cross-genre composer Andy Garbi (who lives in Malvern) to create this performance.

REAL is a company performance using six female dancers with live vocals and ACE Dance and Music's trademark use of multimedia.

Tickets are £10 and £12 (under 25's £8) and can be booked through the box office on 01684 892277 or www.malvern-theatres.co.uk.
