STOURPORT Ultimate Frisbee Club ensured their first competitive tournament had a silver lining when they returned home from Loughborough University with a best-of-the-rest trophy.
The team, known as the Psychedelic Rhinos, came back from the 2005 Beginners Tournament with the Silver Plate.
During the two-day tournament they played eight games, winning six, drawing one and losing one.
The defeat and draw on day one put them in the bottom half of 32 teams, which meant the highest Rhinos could finish was 17th. This left them competing for the second prize, the Silver Plate.
Victories on day two over St Martin, York Ultimate and Leeds Jedi put them in the Plate final against the University of Central England where they secured a thrilling sudden death victory after tying 6-6.
Captain John Watson, who coaches the team along with Gareth Lewis, said: "It was an amazing effort by all team members who played to their full strengths all weekend.
"I couldn't have asked any more from them."
