FRANK Pickett, Kidderminster Chess Club champion, has taken over as captain of the town's Worcestershire League first team.
He succeeds Maurice Bissell, who has stood down after 20 years at the helm, to concentrate his efforts as Kidderminster secretary and combined secretary/captain of the county first team.
Pickett lost his first game in charge, but the side managed a 3-3 draw at home to a combined Droitwich and Worcester St Johns team.
