STOURPORT school pupil, Joe Broughton, has put his creative talents to good use to help protect children.
He was one of the winners in a competition to design a logo for publicity material for the Worcestershire Safeguarding Children Board - WSCB - which has taken over the work of the former Area Child Protection Committee - ACPC.
Joe attends Burlish Middle School and his winning design will be used as the board's official logo.
Representatives of the police, health and probation services and district councils and other organisations will work together under the WSCB umbrella to protect and improve the lives of children and young people.
It was one of the boards set up in the wake of the changes brought about by the Children Act, prompted by the death of Victoria Climbie in 2000.
They have been given more responsibilities and powers than ACPCs to build on work already carried out.
Joe was described by Anne Binney, head of children's social care at Worcestershire County Council, as a "deserving" winner, among "some very good entries" from schools across Worcestershire.
She added: "The shield of Joe's design represents the need to protect children and young people and the balloons depict good times and happiness."
Joe received £30 cash and a certificate during a presentation at County Hall, Worcester.
