Littleton 2,
Malvern Town Res 1
LITTLETON moved into the last eight of the Worcestershire FA Junior Cup after Saturday's frenetic contest.
On a windy afternoon Littleton made the early running and went close on ten minutes when Nathan Hawley hit a long ball into the box that was met by Joe Wright whose header rebounded to safety off the crossbar.
The hosts took the lead on 26 minutes when a free-kick from Perry Beddoes found Robbie Harris who gleefully netted from eight yards.
Wright was again thwarted by the frame of the goal before Malvern stepped up a gear at the start of the second half and equalised 13 minutes in with a deflected goal.
This inspired the visitors and it needed a great save from Danny Edwards to prevent the visitors taking the lead.
The play was now end to end as both teams sought the advantage and it was Littleton who snatched it after 68 minutes after they were awarded a penalty.
Matty Staley's kick hit a post then the keeper, rebounded out of the area where it was seized upon by Beddoes who scored from an acute angle.
Malvern then went close with a header but there were several chances at the other end for the hosts to seal victory but Simon Brain lobbed just over, a powerful shot from Beddoes was beaten away as was an equally accurate long-range drive from Matthew Edwards.
Littleton are at home on Saturday to Heather Athletic in a Midland Com-bination first division clash (2pm).
