IN Stourport we are promised that the bridge spanning the Severn will be repaired and re-painted in the 2006-07 financial year.
However, could I make a plea for something to be done about the appalling state of the glass lenses on the street lighting, both on the bridge and its approach?
A plaque states: "The lighting of Stourport Bridge was supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund" - and, judging by the lichen-like encrustation now adorning the lights, I would doubt that they have ever been cleaned since installation.
In this so-called tourist town, whose responsibility is it to ensure that high profile street lighting is kept grime-free?
