WHILE the idea of having a French or European market in Kidderminster is, in principle, a good one, there seems to be something not quite right.

The attractions of these markets in their own countries are the quality of goods and the prices. Simply bringing the goods over here, then attempting to fleece the local public by inflating the prices simply defeats those attractions.

As goods and produce of a similar quality and, it has to be said, greater choice are available at all the local supermarkets, I, for one, fail to see why the idea was allowed to continue after the first trial.

Having bought a few items at the Friday market last week I was not overly impressed with the prices charged.

It's not a venue I shall be frequenting should it be staged again and I certainly hope no council funds are being expended upon it.
