THE autumn group meeting was held at Brockencote, when members saw a video showing how women can maintain safety in all aspects of their lives.
The guest speaker was Sheila Noble, talking about the history of women's underwear, and showing various items.
In the 18th century underwear was plain and simple, but after the Second World War, when finer fabrics became available, they were often decorated with fine lace and embroidery.
A draw for a £200 bursary for a member to do a residential court at Denman College was won by Heronswood.
Morag Ford, WI adviser, spoke of her previous work on two of the Worcestershire Federation's sub-committees, urging members to volunteer for committees, either at federation or local level.
