THE comedy, Abigail's Party, is the latest production to be staged at The Rose Theatre.
It will run from Monday until Saturday, November 12 and is presented by the Nonentities.
Mike Leigh's play is set in the 1970s and is described as a "savage satire on England's middle class".
It tells the story of Beverley and Laurence, who are holding a get-together at their house.
They invite their new neighbours, Angela and Tony, and the recently divorced Sue, whose daughter, Abigail, is holding a party.
As the alcohol flows, the tension rises in the comedy, culminating in a shocking climax.
The play is best known for the BBC television adaptation starring Alison Steadman.
