Pershore III 36pts,
Kings Norton II 0
PERSHORE put in easily their best performance of the season to shut out their top of the table visitors.
After 20 minutes without any points on the board it was looking as if the afternoon was going to be a tight affair with the ball mainly in forward possession and packs working hard.
It was the outstanding running and support play from the whole of the Pershore team, however, that started to do the damage.
Andy Brown continued his rich scoring vein by opening his side's account when cutting a great angle to the line.
Winger Andy Carey ran in the next before Carl Wilkins benefited from Dave Snell's chip and collect to run in from halfway. Snell himself finished the half with his first try of the game to give Pershore a 24-0 lead.
Kings Norton started the second half much stronger and managed to camp themselves on Pershore's 22 for a good 15 minutes. And, if it hadn't been for incredible try-saving tackles from Alex Barry and Anthony Perks they would have got on the scoresheet.
Kings were then denied what they thought was a good try resulting from a maul before Snell broke through to race the length of the pitch for a try that sealed the win.
Barry capped an outstanding personal performance when scoring the last try of an extremely satisfactory afternoon.
Pershore are back in Merit Table action at Ledbury on Saturday.
