THE second round of five in the Shakespeare Avon Midweek Championships was fished last Wednesday on Hampton Ferry and Evesham Town Waters.
There were 37 competitors on a swollen and coloured Warwick-shire Avon - conditions made more acceptable by a bright autumn day when better weights than expected were produced.
Alcester tackle dealer Alan Stephens had 9-2-0 off Town peg 8 fishing what was considered the old-fashioned way with a rod and reel and stick float and maggot, he netted a mixed bag of fish.
In second place was Daiwa Gordon League's Rob Middle-ton who caught several eels off Ferry peg 64 for 8-10-0
W B Clarke Van den Eynde team captain Leigh Gardner was third (8-6-0 F51) and fellow team man Adrian Narbeth was fourth (7-6-0 T30).

Evesham and District Disabled AC and Partnership's
FIFTEEN members braved Sunday's wet and windy mor-ning in Harvington to fish another round of the Fiesta Cakes Autumn Winter League on the Windmill Lake at Manor Farm.
Dirk Williams coped best with the conditions to net a winning weight of 46.2.0 to just edge out Wayne Panting (42.0.0) and Antony Icke (35.6.0).
Making up the minor placings were Roy Thomson and Rob Campden who weighed in 23.12.0 to finish joint fourth.
The next match is at Loxley.
Evesham Jubilee Society
THE society retained the shield in ideal river conditions at Bidford where Gary Seadon topped the individual standings.
Tim Hunt, fishing a golden peg, was a winner of the Stillwater Shield match at the Fishery.

There's an Open match at the Fishery on Saturday, with fishing for five hours after the draw at 9am.

The next day it's the Evesham and District Association's Centenary Cup match and members wishing to participate are invited to book in at local tackle shops.
Evesham WMC
THE Red Feathers Cup was fished on Ash Pool at Manor Farm where Vic Woods with carp on the pole and pellet was the winner with 79 lbs.
Taking up the minor placings using the same method were Andy Brooks (59.8.0) and Stuart Robinson (49.8.0).
The next match is at Crop-thorne, draw at 7.30am.
