STAFF at the Vale of Evesham Volunteer Centre have come up with a plum of an idea to raise funds -selling Christmas puddings.
They have 60 1lb puddings, produced by the Ultimate Plum Pudding Company in Cumbria, which they are offering for sale at £5.75 each. If all are sold, that will raise £153 for the Oat Street centre and the work of its 200 volunteers.
Centre manager Helen Gray said: "We have tested them and they are absolutely delicious. We have sold 10 puddings already and we have only had them a week, so we are hopeful that we will sell them all.
"It's very important that we raise as much money as we can. The centre costs about £120,000 a year to run and although we get grants from various places a lot of it comes from fund-raising."
