REDDITCH's Club Ventura climbed to the top of Worcestershire League Division One following a nail-biting victory over fellow high-fliers Stourbridge.
The North Moon's Moat side bagged the honours 3-2 and could not have wished for a better start.
Adam Stevenson started the evening off in fine style with a spectacular 9-0, 9-0, 9-0 victory over Stourbridge's number one player Clarke Bagley.
This was quickly followed by Ventura's captain Stuart Harris inflicting another 3-0 defeat on the visitors, this time Stourbridge number two Nigel Cartwright feeling the force of the Club Ventura side.
But the Black Country visitors hit back as life got decidedly tougher for the home team, Dean Jackson and Mark Field unable to get the vital third game to secure the victory.
That honour finally went to anchor man John Whitehead who put in an impressive performance to seal the points and put Club Ventura on top of the division.
