DROITWICH woes in the Coaching Solutions West Midlands Premier Division continued as they were put to the sword by table topping Warwick. CROSSED PURPOSES: A Droitwich player (black) is intercepted by Warwick.
Spa matched their unbeaten rivals and were on level terms until a late flurry of goals condemned them to defeat.
Player Barry Williams admitted the side had felt a sense deja vu after conceding three goals late on for the second game in a row.
He said: "The scoreline doesn't do us justice at all. We matched Warwick for most of the game. The problems is our confidence is low and those late goals really affected us."
Droitwich went into the match on the back of three straight league defeats.
However, they came out aggressively and Ed Deacon and Nick Adams put Spa 2-0 up,
But Spa's opponents had levelled the scores by half time.
They then held their own in the second half until Warwick scored three times.
Spa will be hoping for their first point of the campaign when they take on mid-table Kings Heath Pickwick on Saturday. Droitwich defeated Kings Heath in a pre-season friendly.
l Droitwich's injury hit second team lost 9-3 to Warwick on Saturday. An early Warwick goal set the tone for the match as Spa fell 7-1 down by half time, with Nick Bates on target. In the second half Spa matched their Warwickshire opponents and Dave Mills and Matt Darbyshire grabbed goals for Droitwich.
